While christmas is arriving and everyone is busy with their preparatin for the new year's eve, there are still unfortunate people who are fighting diseases every day for their life. Hoping to bring our care, sympathy, and a warm, loving Christmas to young cancer patients, in the afternoon of December 20, 2012, Dat Xanh Group (DXG) held a trip to visit young childrent being treated at Oncology Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City.
Presents of DXG for children
The trip was participated by Mr. Thach Manh Sang - HR manager, Ms. Pham Thi Minh Hieu - Branch Manager, and Phan Anh Tuyết - Miss Dat Xanh, Le Thi Kim Nhung - Second Miss Dat Xanh, and representatives of some departments of Dat Xanh. This is one of the activities of the program “Warm Christmas” launched by DXG. Annually, with the target of business development associated with social activities, DXG and its subsidiaries take measures to support disadvantaged families and poor students in overcoming their difficulties, assist unfortunate childrent and people suffering from natural disasters, etc.

In a discussion with the staff of DXG, the Director of Oncology Hospital says: “Most children at Oncology Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City are suffering from various cancers and have to undergo radiotherapy, chemo. That’s why their hair have lost. Most of them are from poor families. Their parents had to quit their jobs to take care of them. Our staff is heartbroken when seeing them suffering from pain of the diseases."

Many children has to lie under the beds because the hospital is overloadedg
The staff of DXG visited every room and gave presents to the children. Everyone was moved when seeing children writhing on the beds, some of them even had to lie on the floor. They were really happy at the visit and the presents. A young patient’s mother says: “Children here are poor. They can only play and laugh while they are still fine. When the pain comes back or after taking medicines, they just lie their unconscious. The pain unbearable even to adults, it’s so sad to see the pain my child and other children here have to suffer".

Apart from encouraging the childrent, DXG also gave the 180 presents and commodities such as clothes and toys that are donated by members of the Group. Hopefully, the presents and love from Dat Xanh staff will give the kids more strength to overcome their illness and enjoy a warm, loving Christmas.

At the end of the trip, the innocent eyes and smiles of the children fighting their illness just lingered in my mind. The trip helped us to understand the phrase “Living is not just receiving” more deeply, and is a motivation for Dat Xanh staff to keep working towards best business performance so they can share more with the community and disadvantaged families. There are still a lot more unfortunate lives aroud us that need the care and sharing from the community.
