With the purpose of giving care, warmth and love to children with cancer, in the morning of June 01st, 2016, Dat Xanh Group visited and granted gifts to poor children on treatment at Oncology Hospital and Pediatrics Hospital 2, HCMC.
Approximately 450 gifts were given to children with cancer at Oncology Hospital and Pediatrics Hospital 2, HCMC by Dat Xanh Group. This was among the annual charitable activities with the topic “Give a smile, give some love” from all employees, activated by Dat Xanh Group.

“Most children at the department suffer from cancer. Every child suffers from different type of cancer. However, they all need to undergo radiation treatment and chemotherapy so many of them lost their hair. The majority of them have poor families; whose parents quit working to take care of them. Seeing them in pain, doctors can not help feeling for them.” said a doctor working at Hematology-Oncology Department, Pediatrics Hospital 2.
Dat Xanh Group staff visited each room to give gifts. Watching them in pain in the sick bed, even on the floor, and in the walkway because the hospital was overloaded, everyone was moved. Children felt happy when receving gifts. “Poor them, if their health stabilizes, they can sit playing and laughing, but when the pain comes and they have just been treated, they lie down unconscious. We adult could suffer badly from the pain, so what about them children… I am bitterly painful looking at my child and others.”, said one mother.

In the extensive care unit, there were children breathing oxygen, or undergoing orthovoltage but still smiling when posing for a picture. Their innocence touched everyone.
Besides visting children with cancer, Dat Xanh Group gave them 450 gifts. With gifts and love, Dat Xanh Group hoped to encourage them to overcome the conditions and enjoy a warm Children’s Day.
Looking at their smiles and eyes brightened up with joy, I feel myself delighted because we were able to give gifts and love in time to little patients with harsh conditions.
